about

"At times we are surprised by the capricious yet significant juxtaposition of words. If 'folklore' means the sum total of all the traditions of a people, what are those traditions but the sum of all those familiar 'smells'("olores" in Spanish) of our childhood, or the 'colors' of the countryside engraving us every morning or its sounds, ferocious in the city and shadowy up in the hills or down on the plains?

The folk music of north-west Argentina is within me like my lullabies and the tango like the wail of the city of so many years, Buenos Aires. Jazz, classical music, the other 'folklores', have inevitably been getting on.

I will continue to sow this music with a genuine love for tradition, but also with the certainty that creativity speaks its own language and that we should not impose upon it, rather we should try to understand in which direction, personal and unrepeatable, it is showing us to go."
